No dice

SCOTUS refuses to hear George Ryan's appeal. Justice apparently still served.

John Kass pretty much nails it today. An exerpt, with an appeal from Big Jim:

The high court declined to hear the imprisoned former
governor's appeal on his conviction for corruption. Immediately, Ryan's
familiars began pressing
President Bush for a commutation of
his sentence."His career is gone," former
Gov. Jim Thompson, Ryan's attorney,
told reporters. "His reputation is gone. His pension, for the moment, is gone.
And even if he wins his pension case, it's half gone."

And here I thought it was the Willis family that had done all the suffering...

The President probably won't get anywhere near this thing, and it will be travesty if he does.
